Authentic Reading Practice, Grades 1-3 presents reading practice in these five real-life areas:
* Reading Around the School—environmental print such as labels, signs, calendar, computer vocabulary
* Reading to Follow Directions—directions in school subjects, cooking, constructing things
* Everyday Reading Skills—containers and labels, maps and directories, letters and postcards, menus
* Reading at the Supermarket—product names, shopping lists, coupons, advertising
