About the Author, Alan Jefferies

Alan Jefferis has been a drafting instructor at Clackamas Community College-an Autodesk Premier Training Center in Oregon City, Oregon-for 30 years. Alan's professional experience includes 8 years of drafting with structural engineers and 25 years as a professional building designer. He is the owner of Residential Designs and co-author of several standard reference works, including Residential Design, Drafting and Detailing; Architectural Drafting and Design; Print Reading for Architectural and Construction Technology; Commercial Drafting and Detailing; and AutoCAD for Architecture.

Tereasa Jefferis, a graduate of Clackamas Community College and the Mechanical Systems Institute, has been an architectural drafter for 11 years. Tereasa has experience in architectural drafting, commercial plumbing drawings, and HVAC system design; she designed several of the homes shown in this text. Tereasa works as an independent contractor with structural engineering firms.
