Children's Literature
This title is part of the "Nature Babies" series. It follows a mother Grizzly and her three cubs for two years, showing how the little bears grow up and learn to be independent. Under Mama Grizzly's watchful eyes, they learn how to graze for salmon, dig in the meadow, and stay out of trouble. Clearly intended for younger readers, the book does not address how the bears learn to defend themselves in the wild or fight off aggressors. The text is accompanied by stunning photographs of the bearspoignant, cute, and informative images that make this book an instant favorite. Husband and wife authors/photographers Wayne Lynch and Aubrey Lang introduce the book with an explanation of how they got the photos without endangering themselves or the bears. An index and a "Did You Know?" facts section complete this introductory non-fiction book.
