Overview
BABIES AND THEIR Sesame Street friends have lots of fun talking, singing, and laughing together. Bright, colorful photos show babies and beloved Muppets wishing on stars, matching socks and shoes, playing little instruments, and more. Preschoolers are encouraged to speak, sing, dance, and interact in ways that will have them going back to the book again and again!Editorials
Children's Literature -
The baby on the cover and the first page has a toy in his hand and looks like he is shouting or, according to the text, singing along with Elmo. Not only that, but Elmo wants him to dance. In the next scene, a young girl looks with some surprise at Zoe and all the socks and shoes. Is this a baby Imelda Marcos being asked to wear them all? Children are asked to match up the socks and to count the socks and shoes. With all the focus on childhood obesity, it is nice to see that the snacks presented are all very heathy fruits—not a chip or cookie in sight. Babies are engaging in a variety of activities—saying rhymes, naming colors, and finally saying good-bye—just like Ernie and Bert. This book is part of the "Sesame Street" series, and more information is available at the website www.sesameworkshop.org. Reviewer: Marilyn CourtotBook Details
