Here are eight double pages of happy summer images and trouble free actions all written, designed, and engineered by David Carter featuring his popular and familiar bug characters. In this book Carter has placed the action in the out-of-doors. It is all about a day trip to the beach with the sun in the blue sky above, a beach with plenty of sand to build a sand castle, waves rolling in from the ocean, and a picnic lunch with ice cream. There is a fun pop-up in the beginning of the book that has a ribbon pull-tab in the middle of concentric circles and when the tab is pulled straight up, butterflies that the author calls Flutter Bugs dangle from the circles as they rise. Another special treat is the tab to pull for twinkling Firebugs to glow off and on, and there is a small battery box in the back cover so that batteries can be replaced, if necessary.
