Author Biography: Brett Eastman is Pastor of Membership and Small Groups at Saddleback Church. When he arrived, the church had about 70 small groups. Today there are over 1,500 small group leaders and a growing network of volunteer coaches and bi-vocational pastors. Brett created the Healthy Small Group strategy and he leads the Large Church Small Group Forums for the Leadership Network. Brett and his wife, Dee, have five children.

Karen Lee-Thorp is a freelance writer and editor working from her home in Brea, California. She has written or cowritten more than fifty books, workbooks, and Bible studies with sales of well over two million units. She has received three Gold Medallion nominations. Karen holds a B.A. in history from Yale University. With her husband, Greg, she co-leads a group for young adult seekers. She has three stepdaughters
