About the Author, Michael Phelps

Michael Phelps is the most decorated swimmer in the history of World Championship swimming. An eight-time Olympic medalist and twenty-time world record holder, Phelps is considered to be one of the greatest swimmers in history. He is a member of the U.S. men’s swim team and will compete in the 2012 Summer Olympic Games.

Brian Cazeneuve is a staff writer at Sports Illustrated, where he has been covering the Olympics since 1995. His freelance work has appeared in numerous national publications, including Time,
People
, the New York Times, Washington Post, NBC Sports, and others. He lives in New York City.

Bob Costas is one of America’s most well known sportscasters.
He began his career as a student announcer before joining NBC Sports in 1980. Costas is known for coverage of the Olympics and can be seen regularly hosting Football Night in America. He lives in St. Louis, Missouri.
