PreS-K-- A family of saucer-faced, rosy-cheeked bears passes the seconds, minutes, hours, days, weeks, months, years, decades, and (whew!) a century in everyday ways that give shape to a preschooler's developing concept of time. Examples are well chosen (``In one second . . . Barney Bear's alarm clock rings'', ``In one minute. . . Sarah Bear ties her shoes.''), well ordered (chronologically), and clearly and appealingly illustrated. Page layouts are thoughtful, busy, and just interesting enough to explore the concept, but not so cluttered as to distract from the matter at hand. A useful, engaging, and unassuming work that fulfills its purpose well. --Marcia Hupp, Mamaroneck Public Library, NYBook Details
