Synopsis
Fingerprints, eye retinas, and other biometric identifiers are unique to each individual and can be used for remote identity verification in a number of settings. Zhang (Hong Kong Polytechnic U., SAR China) presents 16 papers that explore the basic concepts, theories, and features of biometric electronic authentication applications. The papers consider both physical (facial features, fingerprints, etc.) and behavioral characteristics (signatures, voiceprint, gait, etc.) and attempt to maintain balance between technology, system, and application.
