Gr 1-3 Corwin begins with a brief history of birthday customs, then focuses on preparations for a party. She supplies many patterns to be traced (bold outlines rendered in black and orange) to make invitations, party favors, and remembrances. Party recipes are all for sweet itemscookies, cakes, sundaes, and punch. A game suggestion is included, as is the idea of making a pseudo-antique birth announcement.
