Overview

Jennifer Fontenot - Karen Carney

Blueprint for Exceptional Writing, 1/e

As writing courses and workshops for K-8 teachers place a greater emphasis on instructing students to demonstrate content power in compositions, educators need an exciting, research-validated plan to teach good writing. Celebrated educators Jennifer Fontenot and Karen Carney have devised a unique framework—a Blueprint—to coach every learner toward exceptional writing. Their multi-sensory Master Plan uses an interactive model that motivates proficient or challenged students to think, plan, and write essays that are expressive and focused. Comprehensive and diverse, this resource includes various proficient and non-proficient student work samples from across the four genres, giving teachers a wide selection of examples to help them put the Blueprint into effect in their classrooms. Perfect for book club study groups, this book is packaged with a DVD that teachers can watch, learn and model along with the author. Learn to build writing skills that support success from year to year with the Blueprint framework!

“This book…is exactly what classroom teachers need. It is reachable, doable, and practical.” —Auleen Jarrett, Henry Ruff Elementary, Garden City, Michigan

“Educators today are burdened with meeting all the requirements of national standards; Blueprint for Exceptional Writing has done it for them!” —Dr. Debra Christian, speech & language pathologist and ESL trainer, Plymouth, Michigan
