Synopsis

West teaches organizational psychology at Aston U.; Markiewicz is a consultant specializing in organizational performance and employee well-being. They explore ways to build organizations that are team-based rather than individually-based, and the psychological and social processes and emerging relationships that facilitate or obstruct successful teamwork across organizations. The text is structured around a six-stage model for developing team-based working (TBW)—deciding on TBW, developing support systems, team leader and team member selection, creating effective teams, reviewing and sustaining team effectiveness, and reviewing TBW. The accompanying CD-ROM contains materials for managers and consultants to use to introduce TBW in their organizations. Annotation ©2004 Book News, Inc., Portland, OR
