Overview

Over the past three years an elusive gang of bushwhackers has terrorized the San Juan range, killing twenty-six men, women, and children.

Sheriff Jeb Moses of Eleanor, Colorado is determined to bring these bushwhackers to justice. A reformed outlaw, Moses believes this is his chance to make amends for past sins.

But when the young son of Joshua Brand, Eleanor's most powerful man, is murdered, Brand hires the famous Pinkerton bounty hunter Paul Kirk to find the bushwhackers.

This doesn't sit well with Moses. Neither does discovering that Brand and Kirk were once best friends, until some dark secret from the Civil War created bad blood between them. Could there be enough bad blood to drive a dangerous man like Kirk to murder?
