What did the famous and infamous relate about the places they visited? Cader, a book packager, compiled this collection of quotations from Horace to Dave Barry about travel in general as well as specific destinations--covering nearly 45 states with at least one quotation. Every inhabited continent and European countries like France, the UK, and Germany have their own section. The table of contents rather than an index gives access to the entries. The quotes purport to be wickedly amusing but are mostly irrelevant except for a tenuous connection with a place. The memorable quotes by authors like Oscar Wilde or Mark Twain will be found in other books with better attribution and indexing. Not recommended.-- Mary Ann Parker, Cal .
