About the Author, Cathy Gerrard

Cathy Gerrard was born in Dublin, brought up in a castle in County Tipperary, and has lived in Hungary and Italy. She has worked as a language teacher, director of a language school, and as a writer and editor for an e-learning company. She now works as a freelance writer and divides her time between Dublin and New York.

John Howell established John Howell & Co in Sheffield in 1979 and by 1997 it had become one of the largest and most respected law firms in the north of England, employing over 100 lawyers. On moving to London in 1995, John Howell has gone on to specialize in providing legal advice to clients buying property abroad.
