Children's Literature - Jeanne K. Pettenati

In this interactive book, each page spread contains a riddle on one side, with answers revealed under lift-the-flaps on the other side. Each rhyme is designed around a particular tactile ocean adventure, such as prickly coral, slimy anemones, and scratchy sand. Each page is beautifully illustrated and will give young children a sense of the wonder of nature. The book also contains buried treasure under each lift-the-flap, which is another visual activity for kids. This educational and fun book is a wonderful way to teach young children about life in and around the sea. It provides a learning foundation for children going to the beach and is an excellent book for preschool summer camps. It is one in the illustrator's "Nature Trail Book" series.
