About the Author, Mark Scriver

Mark Scriver has been paddling canoes for over thirty years, in which time he has become one of the most respected and accomplished canoeists in the world. He has taught and led commercial canoe trips as a senior for over twenty years, and professionally instructed flat water and whitewater canoeing as well as sea kayaking. Scriver also won the World Championships in whitewater canoeing in 1997. He co-authored β€˜Thrill of the Paddle an instructional whitewater canoeing book, as well as Camp Cooking: The Black Feather Guide, a cookbook on how to "eat well in the wild", which won the 2007 Gourmand World Cookbook Award for Best First Cookbook from Canada.
