Long K. Han

This is a practical handbook of clinical cardiac anesthesia as practiced at Oxford University in Great Britain. "The authors have succeeded in providing a succinct, cookbook-style text with clear black-and-white illustrations. "The authors intend this book as a how-to primer for novice cardiac anesthesiologists and nurse anesthetists. "The scope of the discussion is comprehensive, in that it covers basic sciences such as anatomy and physiology of the heart as well as the anesthetic approach to adult and pediatric patients. Given the conciseness of the text, most topics are only cursorily discussed. The authors did not include references, preferring instead to refer the readers to standard textbooks of cardiac anesthesia. "This is a valuable, concise reference for beginners in cardiac anesthesia. Experienced users may find it too cursory for inclusion in their libraries.
