Gr 2-4-- Intriguing illustrations highlight this collection of visual and verbal puzzles, with cats providing the center of focus. Riddles and rhymes lead readers from page to page, challenging children's perceptions as well as their imaginations. Some spreads involve spotting differences; others ask viewers to find identical matches. The most captivating pages ask readers to find feline shapes amid landscapes or hidden among the branches of a bare tree. While the longer rhymes occasionally seem forced, some of the individual lines are quite lyrical and enhance the enigmatic, jewel-toned illustrations.
