Synopsis

Describes the physical characteristics, behavior, and habitat of centipedes.

Naomi Butler - Children's Literature

The attractive cover has a centipede on the front and a list of other titles in the "Bugs" series on the back. Colorful pictures and manageable text make the various chapters—"Legs in Motion," "A Secret Life," and "Hidden Homes"—accessible and interesting. Who ever would have ever have thought, as chapter four describes, centipedes are fierce hunters. The book also includes a table of contents, glossary, a list of resources for further research, index, and a nice section about the author. A particularly nice feature is the pairing of page numbers with chapter titles. What a good way to keep your place. It is the usual fine book by Thomson Gale. 2004, Kidhaven Press/Thomson Gale, Ages 7 to 10.
