AGERANGE: Ages 17 to adult.

Quinn teaches design concepts at a college in London and he also works to develop designs for major British china companies. This is sophisticated, with beautifully displayed photographs of a variety of ceramic projects. It is not a how-to manual for teaching techniques for potters. Rather it focuses on design and developing design, working with a variety of methods, such as coil pottery, molds, throwing on a wheel. For that reason, it is for students of pottery and ceramics who have gone beyond the basics and who yearn to know more about design principles. Reviewer: Claire Rosser
