Overview

Thirteen months before the 1992 national election, dozens of scholars, authors, and officials came together to form the nonprofit Citizens Transition Project, with the goal of drafting a transition report for the new administration that would help provide a fast start for bold change. Changing America is the result. The only transition report organized on a government-wide, agency-0by-agench basis, its 58 chapters by 78 leading progressive commentators represent, according to editor Mark Green, "a menu of new ideas for a new President in this new post-Cold Wear era." The complete 1200-page manuscript was delivered to President-elect Clinton on November 4., 1992. This is the only full-length publication of the report in book form.

Synopsis

An agency-by-agency report on how government could and should work, by seventy-eight leading progressive scholars, officials, and advocates, organized into six main sections: economic, judicial, social, regulatory, and environmental policy; and international affairs.
