This large format volume that is part of a series on migration presents many colorful photos and drawings with a straightforward text that is varied by short inserts profiling famous Chinese immigrants and their descendants such as Amy Tan and Jenny Kee. The six short chapters deal with immigration in the past as well as some of the conditions and challenges facing Chinese immigrants today. A map, index, glossary, bibliography and brief list of films and useful addresses is included.
