Overview

CHRISTIANITY AFTER AUSCHWITZ examines those burning issues which must be candidly addressed by all who seek Jewish-Christian amity in the new millennium. These include anti-Semitism, the Holocaust and “historical revisionism,” Zionism and the State of Israel, and Jewish concerns regarding assimilation, intermarriage, and Christian missionary activities in Israel and abroad. In the interest of honest dialogue, it also examines the Messianic hope and what has been called “the myth of the Jewish-Christian tradition.”

ABOUT THE AUTHOR:
Paul R. Carlson., Ed.D. left the newsroom for the Presbyterian pulpit. He is the author of six books dealing with such diverse subjects as alcoholism, death and dying, ecumenism and interfaith relations. CHRISTIANITY AFTER AUSCHWITZ is his second book dealing with the ongoing Jewish- Christian encounter.

As a result of his concern for interreligious understanding, Dr. Carlson received an award from the National Conference of Christians and Jews (Queens-Nassau Division). He served for six years as a member of the board of directors of the National Christian Leadership Conference for Israel.

In addition to his baccalaureate degree from Barrington College, the author holds four other academic degrees, including that of doctor of education from New York University. He wrote his dissertation on the topic: The Holocaust and the Christian Experience: A Curriculum Resource for Evangelical Christians.
