Overview
This book covers recent advances in hyphenated and multidimensional chromatographic techniques for elucidating the structure, composition, molecular weight, and branching distributions in complex polymers. It describes a variety of detectors along with associated data analysis methods and combines these with site-exclusion chromatography, field flow fractionation methods, and liquid chromatographic methods. It applies these methods to a wide range of polymeric materials.

Notes no date for the symposium from which the 21 papers came. They cover detection and data analysis, field flow fractionation and coupled liquid chromatography methods, and polymer applications. Among the specific topics are characterizing polymers by high-temperature, size-exclusion chromatography employing molecular-weight sensitive detectors; using the single-capillary viscometer detector, on-line to a size-exclusion chromatography system, with a new pulse-free pump; characterizing molecules of complex polymers by coupled liquid chromatographic procedures, the two-dimensional liquid chromatography of functional polyethers; and the degradation of substituted polyacetylenes and the effect of the process on the SEC analysis of the polymers.
