School Library Journal
Gr 5-7-Both of these texts are well written and well organized, but Diabetes includes more detail, perhaps because an organic cause of chronic fatigue syndrome has not yet been discovered, so doctors must treat symptoms rather than the cause. Alternative treatments are included in both volumes. Perhaps the most valuable sections in both books address the complications from these conditions, ranging from fibromyalgia and depression (Chronic Fatigue) to kidney and eye problems and neuropathy (Diabetes). Small, often dark black-and-white photos are scattered throughout.-Christine A. Moesch, Buffalo & Erie County Public Library, NY Copyright 2003 Reed Business Information.Book Details
