Children's Literature - Children's Literature

If you are eager to work on your computer, and your favorite subject is social studies, then this book is for you. Computer instruction based on the Microsoft Works program introduces kids to the basics of the computer. From there, the student learns how to use the word processing program and the paint program to create a social studies project. Research skills, for both online and print sources, are incorporated into the project. Instructions for creating a newsletter, using the Paint program for illustrations, and charting your information are simple to follow, yet thorough. Although based on Microsoft Works, most of the directions seem to be transferable to other programs like MS Word or Corel WordPerfect. This is a great interactive tool for the independent learner. Drawings and diagrams are bright and colorful. One of eight titles in the "Click It!" series. 2000, Millbrook Press, Ages 8 to 12, $21.90 and $5.95. Reviewer: Joyce Riceβ€”Children's Literature
