It is presented here, first, as an outline of the entire problem and arrangements to be consumated in order to put such a scheme across. This solicitation should run somewhat as follows: "The publisher of is an enthusiastic believer in co-operation with national advertisers. We believe we can be of immense assistance in supplying merchandising information, routed lists of dealers and by gaining the cooperation of the dealer for all standard advertised products. The results are accomplished without assuming purely merchandising functions which belong outside the proper activities of a daily newspaper. We are engaged in furnishing vital information about our own territory and stimulating intelligent advertising interest in our own field. "In carrying out this plan we employ the mutual co-operative agreement with retail grocers which is reproduced in full on page 00 and which follows the agreement now in successful operation between grocers and newspapers in other cities. The grocers agree to watch the advertising of all food products and during the newspaper campaign to prominently display and push standard advertised goods and thus reap the full benefit from efforts made by the manufacturer. We agree to notify the grocers in advance when any food campaign is scheduled to appear in our papers and to furnish the dealers with any special information in our possession which we believe will prove helpful to these retailers.
