Overview
This latest volume is not merely an update of previous editions. The number of tables on energy in the CMEA region, including a projection to the year 2000, has increased substantially. Additions include graphs detailing growth of per capita national income, the growth of industrial output of the individual CMEA countries and of the area as a whole, and improvements in agricultural production. In the period since the first edition of COMECON Data there have been substantial changes and improvements in the sources of information used in compiling this volume, and these are reflected in the data reported. For example, most of the Hungarian time series are now available for the years since 1970, and the 1983 edition presents several time series substantially superior to those in the 1981 edition. The detailed list of tables and the alphabetical index insure easy access to the specific information needed by the user.
