Composing at the Computer: 10-Hour Series

The 10-Hour Series covers a variety of important technology-based business skills with short texts that can be completed in ten hours. The Internet and technology are used extensively in this series for research, instruction, and application. These books, many supported by data disks or CDs, are brief, uncomplicated, and activity-based, requiring minimal instructor intervention. Composing at the Computer teaches not only how to key and format finished documents, but also how to plan, draft, and produce them on the computer.

Everyone today drafts messages and correspondence at the keyboard; but they don't always do it efficiently or effectively. Composing at the Computer teaches not only how to key and format finished documents, but also how to plan, draft, and produce them on the computer.

Dr. Jack P. Hoggatt writes the Keyboarding reinforcement activities for the Learning with Computers projects. He is Department Chair for the Department of Business Communications at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. He has taught courses in Business Writing, Advanced Business Communications, and the communication component of the university's Master in Business Administration (MBA) program. Dr. Hoggatt has held offices in professional organizations and has been received the Outstanding Post-Secondary Business Educator Award in Wisconsin. He has served as an advisor to local and state business organizations. Dr. Hoggatt is involved with his community and the school activities of his four children.
