Susan Lura Sanson

This book provides an introduction to the basicprinciples of pathology and basic radiographic pathology. The firstedition was published in 1990. The purpose is to introduce studentradiographers to the basic principles of pathology and the radiographicappearance of specific disease processes. It also provides a textbookfor the required course for student radiographers. The authors haveprovided the radiologic technology academic community with a greatlyneeded resource. This book is intended for student radiographers;however, experienced radiographers could enhance their understanding ofdisease processes too. The authors are recognized authorities withinthe radiologic technology community. Overall, the radiographs aregood; however, in the new edition, some appear slightly darker. Theinclusion of outdated exams (i.e., bronchograms) and really unusualpathology might not be needed in a basic textbook. The layout of thebook is excellent, covering the pathology by going through eachanatomical system. The addition of answers to the chapter questions wasappreciated by my students. This is the only textbook is availablefor a radiographic pathology course, designed for studentradiographers. The authors have done an excellent job in providing acomprehensive overview of a very complex subject. The use of thistextbook in a radiographic pathology course will greatly enhance thestudents' understanding.
