Overview

This volume presents a number of important papers focusing on topics of current interest to applied mathematicians and numerical analysts working on computational fluid dynamics, with particular emphasis on the aeronautical industry. Topics include real gas effects and flows at high Mach number; grid generation and adaptation schemes, different methods of discretising the governing differential equations, and solving the resulting problems of linear algebra; how development of approximate models of turbulence involve compromises between speed of computation, generality, and accuracy; the analysis of aeronautical flows using zonal models; and the application and validation of CFD methods. This book will be of interest to numerical analysts in both university and industrial research departments.
