Children's Literature
Children can learn consideration for others at school, while choosing a game to play, helping a classmate when he or she falls, and helping the teacher to clean up a mess. A situation is posed to the reader and the reader is asked how to respond. This is a teaching moment for consideration. Hands-on activities like writing thank-you notes reinforce the lesson of consideration. It is often difficult for adults to know if they are teaching young children enough about the values of life, and respect for other people. This series "First Facts, Everyday Character Education" addresses a variety of behaviors, and is a great tool for early childhood teachers, as well as parents. Excellent resources are included, as well as a glossary. 2005, Capstone Press, Ages 4 to 8.βJoyce Rice
