Overview

Mexico's architecture is characterized by open spaces, garden living, and vibrant colors that match the nation's tropical scenery. Brightly colored building facades line street after street in small country towns, as if every homeowner tried to outdo his neighbor. Contemporary Mexican Design presents homes designed by thirteen prominent architects in Mexico today. It represents a spectrum of responses to both Euroamerican Modernism and native Mexican interest in bright colors.
