The alphabetical entries include a list of permanent public installations, an artist statement, biographical data, a list of exhibitions, collections, and a primary and secondary source bibliography. The nature of the selection criteria makes for the lively inclusion of, for example, John Cage and Georgia O'Keefe, and an international scope particularly represented by northern Europe.
