Though the initial foreword is called ``If You Have an Eating Disorder . . . ,'' this book's format and content are directed more toward health professionals than general readers. Introductory articles, references, and resource listings (including a directory of facilities and programs in the United States) occupy a third of the book. The remaining sections comprise 26 short articles by clinicians that review research and treatment options for anorexia nervosa and bulimia nervosa. Approaches discussed range from medication and psychotherapy to feminist analysis and holistic perspectives.
