Coping When a Parent Dies

This entry in the Coping series offers information and suggestions to teens (and their friends) experiencing the death of a parent. The book covers a range of topics, from emotional responses to grief, to funeral services, to coping with the surviving parent. The author has been a high-school guidance counselor for 16 years. Her first husband died after a battle with cancer, and the book's final chapter chronicles her personal experiences with her loss and grief. Included are a "Help List" and a summary of brief suggestions for dealing with the grief process, as well as a glossary and a list for further reading.
