Gr 7 Up-- A very competent and complete treatment of sexuality, birth control, and sexually transmitted diseases. This book is an outgrowth of a course that the obstetrician-gynecologist author founded on sex education for inner-city seventh- and eighth-grade students. It is far superior to Alan Nourse's Birth Control (Watts, 1988), and supplants earlier books on contraception. This book should please both conservatives because of its stance against pre-marital sex and liberals because of the breadth, depth, and clarity of information in it. An unfortunate cover illustration, showing two uneasy looking young people with a bed looming in the background, is the only jarring note.
