Overview

"A handsome, sophisticated look at the best of the breed--designer Thomas Molesworth." --San Francisco Chronicle

From authentic Thomas Molesworth collectibles to new western furnishings, Cowboy High Style presents the solid and fanciful designs of furniture makers who are leading today's western revival.

Bowlegged cowboys, buffalo silhouettes, bucking horses, Indian teepees, antlered elk--all icons that symbolize the rugged West. These, plus sensual natural woods, vibrant leathers, and colorful woven wool fabrics, are the raw materials of western casual elegance featured in this book.

If you don't think that cowboy art, especially that practiced by the late Wyoming furniture maker Thomas Molesworth, is really art, then this book will stir up some ideas and steer you right. With nary a discouraging word, Flood shoots straight as she shows the cowboy interior decor from numerous cabins and dude ranches out West. These blankets, leathers, furniture, and paintings are covered with animals, people riding horses, and colorful patterns that will make readers either act as if they've overdosed on locoweed or dream of headin' 'em up and movin' 'em out. Although they might also think that some of the photos were taken on the abandoned sets of "City Slickers", they may rest assured that these are the actual creations of artists dedicated to preserving primarily the idea of returning to those thrilling days of yesteryear. So saddle up! Thomas Molesworth does indeed ride again!!
