About the Author, Mary Maguire

Mary Maguire received her degrees from Portland State University. She is currently an Assistant Professor of Criminal Justice at California State University Sacramento. Her research focuses on correctional practices, gender in policing, symbolic legislation and sex offender treatment.

Dan Okada received his degree from the University of Maryland. He is an Assistant Professor of Criminal Justice at California State University Sacramento and is engaged in several diverse community, discipline, and university activities,
