Criticas
PreS-Gr 1-Using half-size pages that partially disguise the illustration beneath and providing rhyming textual clues ("Una lengua lamedora y una cola como una escoba"/"A licking tongue and a tail like a broom"), Leslie invites youngsters to identify the hidden animal by asking "(Qui n es?" ("Who is it?"). The chosen animals are common and populara dog, a crocodile, an elephant, and so forthand the illustrations are almost glow-in-the-dark bright. The animals have humanized expressions, and the questions are hand-lettered in a large, multicolored block style, allowing pre-readers and beginning readers to easily identify the letters as well as the animals. For this reason, the book is a good choice for independent reading even for children who might otherwise find the content too simple, and should prove popular in libraries and bookstores alike.Coop Renner, Blackshear Elementary, Austin, TX Copyright 2002 Cahners Business Information.
