YA This two-volume set continues the series which began with the '40s. Beginning with an essay overview of the decade, the books consider the events of each day, year by year, in ten categories that include world affairs; events in Europe, Asia, and Africa; and United States political, scientific, and cultural events. Each year is preceded by a telling photograph of an event occurring that year. The books will be well used as reference material for students of current and recent history who need to know dates, sequences, or relationships between events not easily found in other sources.
