Democracy is a novel about political power, its acquisition, use and abuse. It is set at the beginning of a new administration, with the election campaign just over and the new President of the United States just having been elected. However, all the characters depicted are entirely fictitious

About the Author, Henry Adams

Henry Adams (1838–1918), a direct descendant of former presidents John Adams and John Quincy Adams, was an accomplished historian and writer who brought together his vast knowledge of art, philosophy, culture, history, and literature in his famous spiritual autobiography, The Education of Henry Adams. Earl N. Harbert is a scholar and independent writer and editor specializing in American literature and culture. He lives in Naples, Florida.
