Children's Literature
The desert is never really empty and Wadsworth describes the animals and plants at various periods throughout a day. To help with the explanation, illustrator Carrozza has a thermometer showing the temperature and a clock showing the time. Along with the facts kids are asked to look for and name the various animals they have read about. It is twenty-four hours filled with a variety of animals.
