About the Author, Donald E. Breyer

Donald E. Breyer is a Professor of Engineering Technology and Civil Engineering at California Polytechnic University in Pomona California. He actively serves as a member of the NDS Committee of the American Forest and Paper Association and LRFD Engineered Wood Committee.

Kenneth J. Fridley is Head of Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, The University of Alabama, Tuscaloosa, AL.

Kelly E. Cobeen operates her own Structural Engineering firm in San Francisco, California.

David G. Pollock, Jr. is with the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, Washington State University, Pullman Washington.
