About the Author, Stephen Klasen

STEPHAN KLASEN is Professor of Economics at the University of Göttingen, Germany. He has participated in many research and consultancy projects on poverty, growth and gender inequality issues for the World Bank, DFID, OECD, and other national and international organizations. He is the Managing Editor for Review of Income and Wealth, the leading international journal on the measurement and interpretation of poverty and inequality issues.

MICHAEL GRIMM is Junior Professor of Economics at the University of Göttingen, Germany.

ANDY MCKAY is Professor of Economics and International Development at the University of Bath.
