Gr 7 Up-Two women legendary for their involvement in the study and preservation of primates are vividly portrayed, warts and all. Goodall and Fossey dedicated their lives to chimpanzees and gorillas with a passion that fired their work and sometimes hindered it. The barriers they overcame are explored, with plenty of personal detail included to develop them as multidimensional individuals. The writing is clear and engaging, enhanced by well-captioned, color photographs from the women's lives poignantly disclosing their affection for the animals they studied.
