Overview

During WWII, the British government stored bombs and other weapons of destruction at isolated quarries. Inattention to safety concerns led to major accidents, including one in 1944 that killed 68 people. This book exposes the errors and negligence that led to accidents at the underground storage complexes. B&w historical photos are included. McCamley has written other books on the less-known aspects of British industry during WWII. The book is distributed in the US by Casemate. Annotation Β©2004 Book News, Inc., Portland, OR
