Children's Literature

Mother duck is building a nest in which she lays several eggs. They hatch and the wet bedraggled ducklings emerge. However, within a few hours, they are fluffy, dry and on their way to the lake with mother duck. They are immediately able to feed themselves and have no trouble swimming. The account of the birth and first few days in a duckling's life is fascinating, as are the wonderful photographs of every stage of development. Another excellent addition to the "Eyewitness Reader" series, this is a Level 1 book.
