Synopsis

"Sure to be a hit at storytimes, this book would be a good addition to any library serving the toddler and preschool set." - SCHOOL LIBRARY JOURNAL

Follow a multicultural crew of little ones to the farmyard, where they celebrate the distinctive — and easily imitated — sound each animal makes. Featuring rollicking rhymes and adorable tots, here is a happily noisy romp that readers will want to shout aloud.

Children's Literature

Children will have to join in with their own voices when reading this noisy investigation into the world of farmyard animal sounds! Five children visit a farm with the burning question "Who says boo?" Of each animal—including cows, roosters, owls, cats, pigs, dogs, and more—they ask "Does this animal say boo?" until finally they find out who does. Hindley and Granstrom have combined their word and picture talents to present a fun book that joins reading with playing. It teaches animal sounds, presents a delightful variety of kids in terms of ages and ethnicities, and offers a bit of a surprise at the end. Published originally as a picture book, it nicely makes the transition to board book form for an even younger audience. (Warning: Do not read in a place that requires hushed tones!). Reviewer: Heidi Hauser Green and Marilyn Courtot
